Improving
Practice Through New Skills
During the academic year 2002/2003, CGH
and its partners will offer a series of skill-based workshops
on various global health related topics. The emphasis will
be on "training how" rather than "teaching
what". The courses are intended for graduate students,
faculty as well as health and humanitarian practitioners working
locally and abroad. While some of the modules will be geared
towards a broad audience, others will be custom-designed to
meet the needs of specific groups.
Like all CGH training programs these workshops
are developed in close collaboration with our various academic,
community-based and international partners. In the future
NYU partner-schools may choose to offer series of courses
as part of existing degree and diploma programs.
Topics will include:
Bio-terrorism and Urban Disasters
Disaster Preparedness and Response: Strengthening
our Public Health Infrastructure
Global Health: Redefining Health in the
Era of Globalization
Complex Humanitarian Emergencies
Learning from Diverse Health Systems
Reducing Barriers and Improving Delivery
in Diverse Healthcare Settings

a series of "How to" workshops:

health data & statistics
