Why Global Health

Doctors Without Borders
Médecins Sans Frontières (also known as MSF or Doctors Without Borders) delivers emergency aid to victims of armed conflict, epidemics, and natural and man-made disasters, and to others who lack health care due to social or geographical isolation. Founded in 1971 by a group of French doctors, who believed that all people have the right to medical care and that the needs of these people supersede respect for national borders, MSF was the first non-governmental organization to both provide emergency medical assistance and publicly bear witness to the plight of the populations they served.

International Rescue Committee
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) was founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein to assist opponents of Hitler. Today, the IRC is a leading non-sectarian, voluntary organization providing emergency relief, protection and resettlement for refugees or victims of oppression or violent conflict in nearly 30 countries around the world.
